At the start of last week, Femme was on the road to Maine. We’ve been on a mission to explore more of New England and had heard wonderful things about a charming and artsy town called Rockland in coastal Maine. From its rocky shoreline, boating harbor and historical lighthouses to the revamped downtown – we couldn’t wait to hit the road!
Femme stayed at a sophisticated landmark inn located in the Waterfront District just outside of downtown called The Lindsey Hotel. The location was perfect and we loved how quaint and warm it was. This boutique hotel celebrates both history and contemporary style. The essence of coastal living with its nautical décor and refreshing blend of antiques mixed with modern-chic contemporary furnishings and luxuries.
We were welcomed by the wonderful Innkeeper, Joanna who so graciously hosted our stay, and were treated to the most delicious Dark Chocolate mini-cupcakes and awaiting cozy fireplace! After a quick and effortless check-in, we made it to our elegant room with vibrant tones that echoed the serenity of the sea. We were instantly surrounded by the comfort of an inviting atmosphere with plush bedding, soothing fireplace and historical charm.
Joanna's breakfast had to be one of our favorite parts of our stay at The Lindsey Hotel. The next morning, we enjoyed a breakfast of Challah French Toast topped with whipped goat cheese and strawberry syrup with a side of duchess potatoes and sliced melon. All stays include a delicious breakfast comprised of locally sourced ingredients and her creative menu changes daily.
We did quite a bit of exploring including wandering through the harbor and the breathtaking Owls Head Lighthouse. We can see why this is a favorite getaway spot – it has the characteristics and amenities that we all want while still being peaceful at the same time. Sadly, it seemed just as soon as we had arrived in Rockland, we had to go. Many Femme pieces were photographed during our visit and we are very excited to share how we styled them to complement our Rockland experience. As we packed up our bags we were already making plans to come back and see more of this unique area in the near future.
Thank you to The Lindsey Hotel for hosting our stay.
